The New Bedroom

Well, this is the shipment , and you can't even see all the boxes, there are three more standing out of range of the camera.  We bought the bed all put together, or so we thought, those flat boxes on the right still needed to be put together.
Don't think you want to see all the center steps,   they weren't pretty, but the final result came out quite well, I think,   let us know what you think.   the new kittie likes sitting in the chair.  unfortunately you can't see the new red ceiling,  Oh well, looks super.

and again

These are wild alligators
Wanted Linda to go down and pet them so you could compare the size.   She wouldn't do it.  Oh well, they looked to be at least about 10 or so feet long
Just sunning themselves by the side of a river, there was a bridge where we were all standing watching them.   The other one in an earlier post was on the other side of the bridge.

This bird was just wading around the alligator, guess they don't eat this kind of bird.  Or the bird knew that the gator just wasn't hungary that afternoo

ALLIGATORS, WE HAVE ALLIGATORS and birds

This is a limpkin, only found in florida and southern Georgia
Great blue Heron standing on a boat.   these guys stand about three feet tall.
this little guy is a snowy egret.   Note the yellow feet,     what he does it fish is to stand on one foot and wave those little yellow toes around in the water, then when a fish comes by, thinking that they are worms, or something, the egret grabs them with his bill.   they stand about 18 inches tall, and look almost fuzzy.   Real pretty

Can you see him lurking there under the water?
Can you see him now?
There he is, we figured that this guy was over 12 feet long.   He never fully appeared, but just seeing those eyes was enough,   Talk about silent running.

First Month of Retirement

Gary's turn to blog - We haven't put up a post in quite a while so we thought an update would be good although nothing particularly exciting has happened.  We arrived home from our vacation on Jan. 22.  We had a really great time on the vacation and it whetted our appetite for more trips.  After we got home and sorted through the big pile of mail we are getting on with our routine.  The big thing we have found is that daily planning is required in order to get things done each day.  It's so easy to sit back and read or surf.  We are now on our third visit to Western Mass. since we got back from Florida.  My sister Elaine is here from Alaska and we wanted to spend some time with her.  We are slowly getting things done around the house and have started planning our next trips.  We have two grandchildren (Matt/Angie in March and Spencer/Elizabeth in May) arriving in the next few months so we will be going to visit them of course.  That is about it for now.  We need to get pictures posted from the rest of our Florida trip.
